We’ve all heard the stories: your cat will eat you if you die. Depending on who’s telling the story, they might mention that they’ll probably start with your face, too. So when you die, and your cat starts eyeing that juicy corpse of yours, what do you do?
In this game, you are a recently deceased person who lived alone with their cat. You love your cat, and your cat loves you. How does that relationship change now that you’ve shuffled off the proverbial mortal coil?
Cats & Corpses is a solo RPG. All you need is a piece of paper, a pen, and a deck of cards to play.

This game is everything a journalling game should be.
Games like this have to walk a fine line of having enough prompts to keep the player driven forward, while still being open enough that they aren't simply a story themselves. And Cats & Corpses walks this line beautifully.
A lot of this, I think, comes from the game having a very strong premise and really focusing on it. You died. You have a cat. Everything is laser focused on these two things, and the relationship between them, and it really works great. I also appreciate the way everything is presented. The rules as presented are clear enough and well written on their own, but the addition of a few examples throughout really pushes it from "clear enough" to immediately understandable.
Anyway, this was great and I recommend anyone considering it to give it a play.
Oh hot dang thank you so much for that review, and I'm sorry I didn't see it earlier. C&C is one of the little projects I'm most proud of, so I'm incredibly pleased you enjoyed it and clicked with it so well. Thank you again for taking the time to review it, and above all thank you for sharing your enjoyment!
This is a clever, meaningful game that hit me surprisingly hard. Read our review here: https://podofblunders.com/2021/02/26/cats-corpses/
